bitpim-lib software package provides architecture-dependent helper files for BitPim, you can install in your Ubuntu 12.04 LTS (Precise Pangolin) by running the commands given below on the terminal,
$ sudo apt-get update $ sudo apt-get install bitpim-lib
bitpim-lib is installed in your system.
Make ensure the bitpim-lib package were installed using the commands given below,
$ sudo dpkg-query -l | grep bitpim-lib *
You will get with bitpim-lib package name, version, architecture and description in a table
